Working Principle of Air-Cooled Water Chillers

During operation, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the process water in the evaporator, causing it to vaporize. The compressor then draws in this low-pressure vapor and compresses it into high-temperature, high-pressure gas. This superheated refrigerant flows into the condenser, where it rejects heat to the ambient air and condenses back into liquid. The high-pressure liquid passes through an expansion valve, where it undergoes pressure reduction before returning to the evaporator to repeat the heat absorption process. This refrigeration cycle continues until the process water reaches the desired cooling temperature.
