Cambodia National Stadium: A Landmark of China-Cambodia Sports Cooperation in Southeast Asia

Located in the Shuijinghua District of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, the stadium occupies an area of approximately 16.22 hectares, with a total floor space of 82,400 square meters. It is a super-large sports facility with a seating capacity of 60,000 spectators. Supporting facilities such as hotels, sportswear shops, and equipment stores are also included. This is the largest stadium ever built with Chinese assistance. Construction began on August 31, 2017, and the project was officially completed and accepted on August 16, 2021. After being handed over, it will serve as Cambodia’s National Stadium and act as the main venue for the 2023 Southeast Asian Games, further advancing the development of sports and cultural exchanges in Cambodia and the broader Southeast Asian region.
